Gastric Dilatation-Volvulus (GDV) Syndrome in Dogs

In this talk we will discuss gastric anatomy and, more in-depth, the risk factors and etiopathogenesis of GDV. Stabilization and surgery will be included. Finally, complications, prognosis and prevention will be explored. This is a complex disease process and the reader is expected to investigate other texts as well as think critically of those texts, the information posted here and how this information applies to a particular clinical case. This paper is meant to be a basic review that can be applied clinically.
