Mythbusters: ECC Nursing Myths and Truths (An audience-guided content lecture)

Various nursing practices are considered to be “standard of care”—but are they really? Some practices are continued out of tradition, some have valid evidence to support their use, and others are topics of controversy. This session will answer many prominent nursing questions and discuss the methods of incorporating evidence into nursing practice.

• Evaluate which nursing practices are evidence-based versus those rooted in tradition.
• Identify controversial or outdated practices in veterinary nursing that may warrant change.
• Apply methods for incorporating current evidence into daily nursing practice to improve patient care.
