In most circumstances anesthesia can be planned after consideration of patient history, physical and laboratory findings. In emergency situations, this may be abbreviated and the anesthetist may have to make decisions in the best interest of the patient in less ideal circumstances. Cases will be used to help develop management plans for varying emergency situations (e.g., blocked cat, trauma/hemorrhage, etc.)
- Participants will gain familiarity with or review advantages and disadvantages of medications available for anesthesia induction and maintenance
- Participants will develop further knowledge on how to apply these to different emergent situations in their practice
