This session will cover what we know about the prevalence of in-hospital and client drug diversion followed by what to look for as potential red flags. Case examples will be incorporated to show how these red flags can be used in practice. Then discussion on how technology on the human side helps prevent drug diversion, but may not apply or make actually worsen veterinary drug diversion. Finally, utilizing the legal corresponding responsibility of a pharmacist as a way to help prevent prescribing for drug-seeking clients will be discussed.
