James qualified from the Royal Veterinary College in London in 2001. He describes himself as a true general practitioner which is a great place to be: every case referred for advanced investigation or treatment starts in a GP vet's consult room! He spent 7 years working in Companion Animal General Practice before opening his first independent practice in 2008. Owing to family illness, the practice was sold to IVC Evidensia in 2012. James then spent time locuming before taking a job with one of the large veterinary pharmaceutical companies. However, he realised he missed general practice and so opened Millie’s Vets in January 2023. Named after his first dog, the practice works to the ethos of being 'fair and reasonable in all that we do', and this resonates with clients, colleagues and professional contacts. The practice has over 3000 active clients, and a 98.9% 5* Google rating.
