Dr. Harmeet Aulakh is a board-certified small animal internist and founder of Golden State Veterinary Specialists. She earned her veterinary degree and a Master’s degree in Preventive Medicine and Epidemiology from Punjab Agricultural University, India. After completing the Educational Commission for Foreign Veterinary Graduates (ECFVG) program at Louisiana State University (LSU) and obtaining AVMA certification, she practiced as a general veterinarian for five years before pursuing advanced specialty training through a small animal rotating internship at the Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine and a residency in Small Animal Internal Medicine at the University of Illinois and LSU. Dr. Aulakh served for over five years as Assistant Professor of Small Animal Internal Medicine at LSU, where she excelled in clinical teaching, research, and mentorship. She recently joined Western University of Health Sciences as Associate Professor of Internal Medicine. Dr. Aulakh has authored multiple peer-reviewed publications, book chapters, and continuing education lectures for veterinarians.
