Review the pathophysiology of the thermoregulatory system, including mechanisms of heat dissipation. Define heatstroke and discuss the pathophysiology of the disease. Review the pathophysiology of all the major body systems affected (i.e. neurological, cardiac, respiratory, GI, renal, hepatic). Discuss the treatment and nursing care for the heatstroke patient, focusing on each body system affected.
